Our beginnings...
The Mountain Top Photography Club has been encouraging the art, craft, and appreciation of photography since 2008. The club organized from a handful of enthusiastic members to more than 50 members with a diversity of photographic interests, from film to digitally produced images. A range of interests are represented by our members, from birding, flowers, wildlife, macro, and flash to portraits. The club’s monthly meetings, open to the general public, offer an opportunity for learning and critique.
Workshops, often led by experienced club members, encourage and enlighten members in a variety of useful skills, among them: digital cameras, flash photography, macro, composition, exposure, printing, matting, and framing images. The club also offers ongoing photo critique sessions to help members know when to use the "rules" of photography or when to break them.
The Mountain Top Photography Club does not sponsor competitions, but our members do compete and exhibit. We have sponsored an annual club exhibit which allows our members to show their artistic talents and many members compete in many local opportunities.
The most important strength of our club is the friendliness and helpfulness of the members. Expect to be welcomed!
